Washington Wind Symphony

Washington Wind Symphony

a Puget Sound based wind ensemble

February 10, 2008 - 3:00 p.m.
Hands Across The Sea

The February concert is entitled "Hands Across The Sea", a celebration of wind music from other shores. We are featuring Celtic folk songs arranged both by an Englishman as well as by a composer from Japan; a work written for a Russian ballet; a ballad by an Italian about a Scottish castle; and a complete Russian symphony, written in 1958 and transcribed for band in 1995. Summing up our overseas travels is the Sousa march "Hands Across The Sea", which he wrote for our national friends on other continents.
